About Us

Founded in 2007, Educate Girls is a non-governmental organization that holistically tackles issues at the root of gender inequality in India’s educational system. Our comprehensive model reforms government schools through community ownership and ensures 100% enrollment, higher attendance and improved learning outcomes for all girls. Educate Girls is an independently registered Section-25 Company in India. We have a management and outreach office in Mumbai and operate in Pali, Jalore and Sirohi districts, Rajasthan.

“In the 19th century, the central moral challenge was slavery. In the 20th century, it was the battle against totalitarianism. We believe that in this century the paramount moral challenge will be the struggle for gender equality around the world.“

prize winning authors of “Half the Sky”

We aim to achieve behavioral, social and economic transformation for all girls towards an India
where all children have equal opportunities to access quality education.

Educate Girls works to reform government schools for girls’ education by leveraging existing community and government resources. Our goal is to improve access and quality of education for
4 million children living in underserved communities in India by 2016.
